Lloyd cashes in by banging a gong for all those business awards
BARFLY has long suspected there may be too many business award schemes - and now it looks like there is proof. A company called UK Industry Awards is offering to guide potential gongwinners through 900 events a year for GBP 265 plus VAT.
UKIA's Mark Lloyd, an award organiser, estimates that around 50 of these ceremonies are held in Scotland every year and it seems that company bosses can't get enough of them.
He says: "I receive calls all year round from companies looking to enter events and realised that the UK didn't have one source of information which could help them find relevant events to enter."Barfly wonders if there is an awards scheme for companies that employ people with initiative.
Probably.
